Last year one of my customers requested me to solve the problem to let him run an isee systems (formerly High Performance Systems) iThink model out of iThink application. Given strict time constraint, my solution, called iThink Runner, was a library and a small application for Microsoft.NET that accept as input the textual form of the model (taken from iThink application) and give the output in Microsoft SQLServer table. As bonuses, iThink Runner can apply the model to different sets of variables for every iteration and so is suitable to use in an environment that requires a lot of calculations of the same model in different context, like e.g. educational. Obviously, running out of iThink application and with a database as backend leads to a more flexible use of the model, like in a web application and so on.
